Soledad Canyon Brush Fire Prompts Response In Santa Clarita A Soledad Canyon brush fire in Santa Clarita prompted a response from firefighters Wednesday. UPDATE: All eastbound lanes of Soledad Canyon Road have been temporarily closed due to the incident at Langside Avenue. Around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, first responders received reports of a brush fire on Soledad Canyon Road and Penlon Way in Canyon Country, said Jon Matheny, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. When units arrived on scene, they reported a quarter-acre burning uphill with no structures threatened according to Matheny. A majority of the brush response, including the helicopters, have been canceled, according to Fire officials. ....
Canyon Fire Ignites On 5 Freeway North Of Santa Clarita The Canyon Fire ignited Friday afternoon just north of Santa Clarita on the 5 Freeway. UPDATE (2:50 p.m.): The fire has burned six acres with fire running uphill. No structures are currently threatened.
