Bridgeman Named to US Palmer Cup Team Clemson, S.C. Clemson junior Jacob Bridgeman has been named to the 2021 United States Palmer Cup Team. The announcement was made on Tuesday on The Golf Channel. The Palmer Cup will be played June 11-13, 2021 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. The event is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men’s and women’s university/college golfers, matching the United States against a team of international players. Bridgeman leads the nation in stroke average with a 69.24 figure, an average that is on pace to be a Clemson single-season record. He has a team-best six top 10 finishes in seven tournaments this year, including two victories. He is ranked as the third-best player in the nation by Golfweek and seventh-best by Golfstat. He has 16 under-par rounds and is 40-under-par in his aggregate score for his 21 total rounds. ....
February 26, 2021 SAN ANTONIO, TX The Cabo Collegiate, an elite NCAA men’s golf tournament hosted by Arkansas, will be held at TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course March 1-3 and Valero Texas Open officials will offer an exemption to the medalist to compete in San Antonio’s PGA TOUR event, scheduled for March 29-April 4. Due to international travel restrictions, the tournament, which includes 16 Division I teams, has been re-located from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to San Antonio this year. “We’re excited to support golf at the college level and to have such an elite field of student-athletes playing our tournament course here in San Antonio,” said Larson Segerdahl, Valero Texas Open Executive Director. “From our perspective, it makes great sense to reward the talent and skill of the top finisher in this year’s Cabo Collegiate at TPC San Antonio with an opportunity to test themselves next month on the same course against the world’s best.” ....
