Marion County Jail inmate dies of apparent suicide, sheriff says

View Comments An inmate at the Marion County Jail died Monday in what appears to be a suicide, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said. Michael Aston, 43, was found unresponsive and not breathing by jail staff at 9:47 p.m. Monday. Deputies initiated CPR, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said, and called for both on-site medical staff and Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services. Emergency workers pronounced Aston deceased at 10:09 p.m. "Preliminary information, which is subject to investigation, suggests that the death was a suicide by hanging," the spokesperson said in a prepared sta...
