ELIZABETHTON — In unofficial results, there were no surprises in Carter County voting on Tuesday, where 41.9% of the voters turned out despite almost no contested local races.
Election results are in for the Johnson City Board of Education, with two incumbents and two former members preparing to take their seats on the board following an unprecedented election.
On Wednesday night, the Johnson City Press and the League of Women’s Voters of Northeast Tennessee hosted a forum Wednesday night for Johnson City Schools Board of Education election candidates
The first forum will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday with candidates for the Board of Education. A forum with City Commission candidates will follow at 7 p.m.
Seven candidates for the Johnson City Board of Education have qualified for the August primary, which will be the district’s first partisan school board race.
