A TALENTED student is swapping North Yorkshire for New Jersey after being awarded a £250,000 scholarship to study at one of America’s most prestigious universities. Ripon Grammar School pupil Mena Scatchard, one of the fastest young middle-distance runners in the UK, won a funded place at Princeton University. Credit AppHarvest   Eastern Kentucky agri-tech company AppHarvest launched a container farm classroom program at Madison Central High School in Richmond on Thursday. The project uses retrofitted shipping containers as grow houses that can hold thousands of seedlings and mature plants. It’ll operate as a hands-on agriculture classroom and feed students and people in the community.
