Venue Cymru youth arts festival continues

AN ARTS festival for children and young people is continuing into April. take pART 2021 has returned for the 12th time, but in a slightly different way with virtual arts and theatre events. The series, staged by Venue Cymru, began on March 20 and is taking place over four weeks. Ysgol Tudno joins forces with Venue Cymru musicians to launch radio station

PRIMARY school pupils have joined forces with a popular theatre’s classical musicians to launch an online radio station. Ysgol Tudno in Llandudno is working with Venue Cymru’s resident Ensemble Cymru in the weekly project which aims to promote well-being through music. It has seen them work with artistic director and clarinetist Peryn Clement-Evans, harpist Mared Emlyn and cellist Nicki Pearce. The annual celebration of literacy sees children dress up as their favourite characters from popular books. Despite lockdown restrictions, schools and parents across Powys were determined to mark the day. Pupils at Castle Caereinion Primary School dressed up as their favourite literary characters.
