The Nueces County Hospital District Board of Managers meets Friday to consider a deal between the Hospital District and Christus Spohn in an effort to retain the Emergency Medicine Residency Program.
The Nueces County Hospital District will vote to approve it on Friday.
Officials have reached what they see as a monumental deal on Christus Spohn's emergency medicine residency program, which had originally announced it would be phased out by 2026.
"The deal that was made was a good deal, but the medical community didn’t feel like it was a long enough," Pct. 4 commissioner Brent Chesney said.
