The 2023 IHF Men’s World Championship said goodbye to co-host nation Poland, as Denmark defeated Spain 26:23 in their semi-final clash.
Later tonight, both teams will get on the same charter flight to Stockholm for their final match of Poland/Sweden 2023, with both in exactly the same matches they played at this stage at Egypt 2021 – Denmark playing for gold and Spain for bronze.
Spain are the first team to qualify for the quarter-finals at the 28th IHF Men's World Championship after they sealed their fifth win in a row (31:26) against Slovenia, creating an unassailable gap in the standings, with only matchday to go in the Main Round Group I in Krakow.
France are also qualified for the quarter-finals, irrespective of their results in the last two matches, due to the head-to-head record against Slovenia and Montenegro.

Spain eased to a five-goal win over European rivals Montenegro as they started their 2023 IHF Men's World Championship preliminary group in Krakow, Poland.
Jordi Ribera's team won bronze at the 2021 IHF Men's World Championship in Egypt last time. They were comfortable against the Montenegrins at the Tauron Arena in a match where they were able to give all but Rodrigo Corrales a run out.
