Council members have had 11 meetings on the nearly $550M spending plan. They’ll have two more before acting on it.
Mayor Christine Frizzell vetoed a council measure to ditch the fee. An attempt to override her action came up short.
The council needs five votes to override the veto. At last week’s meeting, the council only had four votes for the ordinance.
The city council voted 4-2 to lower its vehicle registration fee to $0. But the mayor could veto it.
