Qairos Energies Investment Points to Hemp as Fuel Source The Qairos facility will be based on gasification technology, in which heat and oxygen are applied to hemp biomass, in this case, resulting in gaseous substances. USDA Introduces Grant for Hemp Germplasm Collection Applications for the grant close March 30. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) has announced a Supplemental and Alternative Crops (SAC) competitive grants program for hemp and canola. NIFA is looking to fund one project to collect hemp germplasm for the USDA Hemp Germplasm Repository located at Cornell AgriTech in Geneva, New York.
