Around 250,000 Jews were killed at the Sobibor Nazi death camp, located in Poland, and an excavation of the site reveals at least four children also died there during the Holocaust. Archaeologists working at the now closed camp uncovered four metal ID tags belonging to children ages five to 12, engraved with names, dates of birth and hometown. However, researchers say the tags appear to have been part of a private initiative by the parents and not given to them by the German Wehrmacht, the armed forces of Nazi Germany, who operated the camp.
