In the audio clip, which has been released by the Crown Prosecution Service, Penfold said: “I would have stabbed him in the throat and ripped his f ing jugular out.
“Don’t worry, next time I’m in Swindon, yeah, do you know what I’m going to do? I’m going to hunt this down and I am going to stab him [to stop him from] crying rape.”
The delivery driver had shouted “rape” after being threatened by co-defendant Dennis Pearce and surrounded by Penfold and another man.
The Chicken Cottage driver told the jury last week: “If you shout rape there is more chance that people will help you because they will think something’s happened to a woman, whereas if a bloke shouts ‘help, help’ nobody even looks twice.” ....

JAILED: Murderer who beat woman to death in 1983 is jailed for slashing paramedic
A CONVICTED murderer slashed a paramedic in the head after it was suggested he’d need to go to hospital.
Alcoholic Gerald Lee, 56, who was given a life sentence in 1983 after he beat a woman to death with a brick, was said to have drunk up to a litre of vodka before the assault.
Prosecutor Alec Small told Swindon Crown Court on Wednesday afternoon that Lee’s social worker had called the ambulance service on February 25, 2021, over concerns about his health.
Although shocked to see the paramedics, Lee let them into his Pinehurst home. They became concerned that he was showing signs of hypothermia and also had high blood pressure, telling him he would need to go to hospital. ....

A FORMER addict caught selling crack and heroin to an undercover cop has been given a suspended sentence.
Gary Steptoe, 41, was given a chance to prove himself in January, when Judge Peter Crabtree deferred his sentence for three months.
The Park North man was ordered to comply with any instructions from the probation service and continue working with addiction charity Turning Point.
Steptoe returned to Swindon Crown Court on Friday and Judge Peter Crabtree imposed a 20 month prison sentence suspended for a year.
The judge said: “Given the circumstances and that this is dealing on one day in unusual circumstances I deferred sentenced on the basis of the conditions I indicated, having said that the normal starting point would be three years. ....

A MAN who helped his mate try to rob a fried chicken delivery driver of food and his car keys later bragged to his ex that he would rip out the victim’s jugular.
Aaron Penfold, 21, had denied attempting to rob the Chicken Cottage driver in Nythe last December. He claimed his comments to his ex, said to be a fan of “bad boys”, were bravado and borne from jealousy that she was talking to other men.
However, jurors took around two hours to return a unanimous guilty verdict on Friday afternoon. ....
