Here's why the city of Corpus Christi is trimming down Blucher Park
Bibi Dalrymple was taken aback when she went to Blucher Park on Monday afternoon for the Audubon Outdoor Club's weekly maintenance of the park. She and several other volunteers found that trees and shrubbery had been cut back, and several limbs had been removed. They also observed large X's painted on the two trunks of the largest and oldest huisache tree in the park. Earlier on Monday, city crews had started on the park's tree and brush trim plan they perform on the park every five years, City Manager Peter Zanoni said. The city assessed the park with its arborist on staff.
