Loudoun County supervisors vote to replace segregated World War I plaque
The World War I plaque in Leesburg that racially segregates 30 soldiers will no longer list white and Black soldiers separately after the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voted to replace it. On Dec. 9, the board voted unanimously to move forward with the action after holding a public hearing. The change is nearly 100 years in the making.
