In August 2022, the school board rejected the previous curriculum committee’s recommendation to subscribe to Newsela, a current events website, and to purchase McGraw Hill’s secondary social studies curriculum for grades 7 to 12.

Education Minnesota Menahga agreed to skip the Health Insurance Transparency Act process in 2023 to ensure premiums will not rise more than 9%.

Menahga School Board member Julia Kicker said, in the past, the district has lost good teachers due to lack of child care. She urged the school district to take action.

The changes are incorporated in the 2022-23 student handbook, which they adopted at their Monday, Aug. 15 meeting.
