Remembering trips to one of Herefordshire's first supermarkets
We Grew Up In Hereford Pictured outside Meadow Market in Withington were, from left, Jim Thompson, managing director, Ted Moult, and Brian Wilson local manager WHETHER it was a quick trip to pick up some groceries, or spotting the store in a 1970s TV drama, many in Hereford will have memories of Meadow Market. The popular shop, in Withington, near Hereford, and which later became Norman’s, has been a big talking point in our nostalgic Julia Laylock is one group member who used to work at the shop, which was officially opened in 1971 by farmer and television personality Ted Moult.
