Darren Ferguson, 40, pleaded guilty to the voluntary manslaughter of Jullius Brooks on Friday in exchange for a shorter sentence. Ferguson was originally charged with murder.
"Gun violence is destroying our families. It's an emotional roller coaster," Pamela Yarbrought-Newson. "The shooters think they're harming that person, but in reality it's the family that suffers."
