Anambra communal clash: Obiano imposes curfew on two communities On By Vincent Ujumadu Following last weekend’s communal clash between Omor and Anaku communities in Ayamelum local government area, in which three lives were lost, Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano yesterday imposed an indefinite curfew on the two communities. The former chief judge of Anambra State, Justice Paul Obidigwe was attacked during the clash, while three houses, including the house of a former Commissioner in the state, Dr. Christian Madubuko, were burnt. Nine persons, who sustained injuries during the clash are still receiving treatment. Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, who announced the imposition of the curfew said it was with immediate effect. According to him, the curfew would run from 7 pm to 6 am until further notice, adding that security operatives have been given strict orders to enforce the curfew. ....
… says we’re working hard to manifest it By Nwabueze Okonkwo Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, former civilian Governor of Anambra state has stated categorically that God has already approved the emergence of the much desired president of Igbo extraction otherwise known as Igbo presidency. Ezeife who spoke Monday in Awka, during a meeting of Anambra Elders and Stakeholders ANELDERS, Forum for Good Governamce, said having been approved by God already in the spiritual realm, Igbo elders are now working very assiduously to manifest it in the physical realm. He disclosed that Ndigbo have set aside May 31, this year for a world conference and deliberations on how to make the Igbo presidency manifest. ....

In a communique issued after an enlarged executive meeting of the body held at Ukpor in Nnewi South Council Area of the State, the forum maintained that it is non-negotiable that the next president of Nigeria must come from the Southeast region. Among those present at the meeting were First Republican Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amechi, former Governor of the state, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife who is the national leader of the forum, former Chief Judge of old Anambra state, Justice’ Anthony Iguh who is the national president, past Chief Judges of Anambra state, Justice G.
