Tagged after last week s devastating storm but since then, the california state department of correction inmates have been working to place sandbags in vulnerable areas, place k-rails out to divert the water flow and placed 150,000 sandbags since last week. the storm drains were clogged and they were working and are still working where i m at to clear those storm drains. the water is moving a lot better now, authorities tell us, and the rain, it seems, to have tapered off a little bit. we don t know how much more rain is going to be coming through here but we think the heaviest of this morning s rain has come through here and we see no significant new mud slides. of course, this ground is very, very saturated from over a week s worth of rain and it s been the worst disaster that s hit his town in its history. so the concern is still there ....
Enough about the people that have helped us here. reporter: over the weekend, county and city crews along with 300 california department of corrections and rehabilitation inmates cleared streets. and a drainage channel once filled with mud and debris is now flowing again. we re continuing to clean up and we re continuing to mitigate. we ve been putting up sandbag diversion walls and k-rails throughout the city. reporter: cal fire crews worked with contractors to clear out two basins responsible for last week s mud slide. ....

Inches of snowfall over the last several days. area of low pressure parked off the pacific northwest, and then we ve got this amazing stream of moisture. the pineapple express just kind of aimed at the west coast. it s a little bit more moderated air, but you get the lift in the mountains and you re going to see just piles and piles of snowfall. we take you to king veil, california. we have pictures from out of there. king veil is along interstate 80 around donner pass. and they told folks you have to put xhans on tires and be careful. somebody had to pull over and put chains on. they could see in the higher peaks of sierra as much as ten feet of snowfall. so we have this moisture in place and have the cold air spinning, and we ve seen the bulk of that moisture between the san francisco and los angeles area. but not exclusive to those regions. those k-rails off the side of ....
