NOVI — The city of Novi, in partnership with the Polynesian Arts Advocacy Council of Michigan, held the “Luau for Lahaina” Aug. 26 at the Novi Civic Center to benefit those affected by the wildfires in Maui.
All Hawaii residents — as well as people around the world — are invited to join in the Friday vigil, “Kipuni Aloha no Maui,” meaning “embrace beloved Maui,” during the ceremonies to be led by spiritual leaders at sunrise, noon and sunset.
The Luau for Lahaina is hosted by the Polynesian Arts Advocacy Council of Michigan in partnership with the City of Novi.
