Eveleth man sentenced to 10 years for stabbing, shooting incident in Virginia
Luke Mathias Erkkila Erkkila was on supervised release after serving prison time for a 2013 stabbing incident when he attacked Scott Fitzgerald Kesler outside a Virginia residence July 26, 2019. According to court documents, Kesler had just arrived at his girlfriend's home on the 800 block of Sixth Avenue South and was getting out of a car when Erkkila approached him. Kesler later told police that Erkkila said, "she's leaving me because of you," before shooting him.
