Many people working in crematoriums and their families have to depend on their meager salary, that is disbursed once in two to three months or sometimes even a year, for groceries and meals.
After coming to know about the problems of such workers, Cynthia Stephen reached out to her friends abroad to raise funds and help the workers.
“I managed to arrange Rs 70,000 for 36 people working at the Kalpalli Burial Ground and distributed Rs 2,000 to each worker. This initiative is the collective effort of a number of friends. I offered to coordinate and help in

Ragini came all the way from Judicial Layout near
Yelahanka in north Bengaluru to Kalpalli Burial Ground on Wednesday morning to distribute groceries to the grave diggers and those working at the electric crematoria. “It gives me immense pleasure to help the grave diggers who are doing a commendable work during this crisis. I am equally saddened to see pain and anguish among the people wherever I visit these days,” said Ragini.
