The pandemic has sparked a boom in second house sales, with the home counties giving more predictable areas such as Cornwall and the Cotswolds a surprising run for their money.
Sales of second homes rose by 43pc last year as families sought a bolt hole outside the city centre according to Coutts, the Queen’s bank.
