Interior Health says it has reached a milestone for vaccinating against COVID-19, saying more than half a million doses have been administered.
In all, it says 518,028 doses have been given to 485,143 people.
As of last Thursday, in line with provincial health changes, IH is now notifying people to book second doses of Moderna and Pfizer vaccines eight weeks after they received their first dose. Before Thursday, the interval between those doses was 13 weeks.
With second dose clinics now starting, IH also says it will be returning to rural and remote communities to administer second doses. At time of posting, dose two clinics had not been scheduled, but the health authority says its webpage will be updated “in the coming days” with that information. Communities with second-dose clinics, addresses of those clinics and the eventual dates of those clinics can be found here.
