Karina Mireya Gutiérrez Ramírez se colgó el oro en la categoría cadetes de los 61 kilogramos tras derrotar a una oponente de Querétaro, desplegando un enorme ahínco, destreza, fuerza, técnica y determinación en el área de combate.
Mientras que las preseas de plata fueron conseguidas por María José García López en la división de los 57 kilos y Cecilia Lizbeth Barranco Solano en los 69 kilogramos, ambas en categoría cadetes femenil.
En tanto, los bronces fueron obtenidos por Naydeli González Fructuoso en cadetes de los 73 kilos, Indihui Linares Cházari en la escolar de los 54 kilos, Aranza Araceli Hernández en ésta última categoría también pero en los 48 kilogramos, y Jocelyn Hernández Gómez en la actividad de cadetes 53 kilos.

Marching footsteps and thunderous voices crowded the streets of cities nationwide last May after the murder of George Floyd. Anguish and outrage propelled the Black Lives Matter movement forward in a way it hadn’t been seen since its start. 
Politicians and law enforcement were forced to come face to face with a message they tried, for decades, to ignore: police violence is a direct result of systemic racism in policing. 
Solutions for addressing systemic racism in policing came in a variety of forms and were more popularly discussed under three categories: reform, defund and abolish. Though these solutions all advocate for changing the face of policing as we know it, these terms became a source of confusion, misinterpretation and dispute.

The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) voted on April 18 to approve a plan to reopen high schools for in-person instruction. The CTU Rules and Elections committee certified the ballot results of the addendum to their reopening agreement with Chicago Public Schools (CPS).
Members voted 83 percent in favor of ratifying the agreement.
The agreement secures safety standards for returning students to in-person high school, delivers protection of students and defends the working conditions of employees of CPS by including access to vaccination sites.
“Under the terms of our agreement, CPS has to provide for the mitigation strategies that currently keep people safe in our schools including six feet of social distancing, mask wearing, adequate ventilation with HEPA filtration which clears the air from each class at least five times an hour,” said CTU Communications Director Chris Geovannis.

Chicago police school resource officers will not be returning to high schools for the remainder of the academic year, according to a letter sent to parents on April 23 by Chicago Public Schools.
“I feel that it was long overdue and it’s a decision that should be permanently instilled within CPS Schools,” said Lissete Estrella, a senior at Prosser Career Academy.
Schools will have the option in the fall to participate in the school resource officer program for the 2021-2022 school year by majority vote from the school’s Local School Council (LSC).
