Sandeep Patil had appeared before the SIT to provide clarifications on a probe against hacker Srikrishna Ramesh in connection with the Karnataka Bitcoin scam.
While former Crime Branch police inspector Sridhar Pujar’s anticipatory bail plea was rejected, the bail plea of former Crime Branch technical cell inspector Prashanth Babu was allowed in the Karnataka Bitcoin scam case.
The SIT is investigating allegations of corruption in the handling of multiple cases against hacker Srikrishna Ramesh alias Sriki and the seizure of allegedly stolen Bitcoin found in his possession.
