While former Crime Branch police inspector Sridhar Pujar’s anticipatory bail plea was rejected, the bail plea of former Crime Branch technical cell inspector Prashanth Babu was allowed in the Karnataka Bitcoin scam case.
The four former crime branch officers accused in the SIT FIR into the Karnataka Bitcoin scam are Poojar, inspectors Prashanth Babu, Chandradhar S R and Lakshmikanthaiah and private cyber expert K S Santhosh Kumar who assisted the probe in 2020.
The SIT arrested the cyber expert K S Santhosh Kumar and the former head of the city technical cell Prashanth Babu on Thursday in the case.
On Saturday, the SIT searched the residences of four police inspectors and a private IT expert who were involved in the original probe against Srikrishna and his associates in 2020 and 2021, sources said.
