Hundreds hit the slopes in Franklin to support the Special Olympics of Wisconsin
Many came out to enjoy some tubing, sledding, or snowshoeing.
Participants were able to take part in a cardboard box race and create their own sleds.
It is all part of the annual Polar Plunge, the largest fundraiser to help over 9,000 Olympic athletes in the state. It allows our athletes to participate in over 18 sports and we have sporting events throughout the year, President and CEO of Special Olympics Wisconsin Kathleen Roach said. The money that s raised by our supporters has helped the athletes participate free of charge in all our activities.
