The graduation ceremony held recently in Morristown heralded more than just accomplishment.

The Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a candidate forum Tuesday for those running for the Morristown city election at Walters State Community College. Those running for election include Rob Burke and current City Councilman Bob Garrett for Ward 1, Charles Cook and current City Councilwoman Kay Senter in Ward 3 and Tommy Pedigo, whose running unopposed, for an at-large seat. The forum will be held 7 p.m. at the Lyceum in Walters State and all candidates have agreed to participate, the chamber said. There are three city council seats up for grabs this election. At large councilmeber Tommy Pedigo will have another four term as he is unchallenged for his seat. In Ward 1, Rob Burke has qualified to run against incumbent city councilmember Bob Garrett. In Ward 3, Charles Cook has again qualified to run for office, this time facing long-time incumbent Kay Senter. The seven city council seats are staggered. The other four will be on the ballot in two years.
