Last year’s two events were so well-received we’ve added more for 2024!

Dover officials recently updated a trio of building fees to more accurately reflect the associated costs to the city. The council unanimously adopted the measures after a public hearing on the proposed fee increases during its Jan. 11 council meeting. Among them were fees for resubmitted plans, re-roofing building permits, and updates to a building valuation table to reflect more current construction costs.

From Clark Fork to Priest River, there is a no shortage of key school board, city council and mayoral races on the ballot today. Among them are contested races for Sandpoint's mayoral seat and three council seats, a contested Dover council election, and contested races in both the Lake Pend Oreille and West Bonner County school boards.

Local council and mayoral candidates in contested races got a chance to match their pitch to area voters at a Monday candidate forum.

People packed a Sandpoint Library community room Monday, as every chair was claimed at a public forum hosted by the Bonner County Daily Bee to cover hot topics for the Nov. 7 election.
