We are talking about a coalition of workers who have been bargaining with the city. They represent 4500 city workers, including airport workers, libraries and housing departments. The strike could impact 911 dispatch, water plant staffing, possibly more because neighboring unions are willing to join if the strike happens. They have been calling for improved paid family leave, better wages and have asked the city to address job vacancies. They initially offered a 5 raise next year.
