Unbeknownst to his parents and against their wishes, he bought a used muscle car – a 1971 Oldsmobile 442. He still owns it 45 years later. “Bought this car in 1976. I worked at Maxwell Drug Store, downtown Torrington, and the girl that worked there had it. I was still in high school, working part-time.
