Dodge Center Man Identified in Kenyon Fatal Fire Enter your number to get our free mobile app The Goodhue County Sheriff s Office has received positive identification of the individual found in a burned-out vehicle in front of a rural Kenyon home on New Year s Eve. Corey Lee Cassidy, 36 of Dodge Center was positively identified yesterday afternoon by the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner s Office. The Goodhue County Sheriff s Office news release states, Our investigation indicates that accidental carbon monoxide asphyxiation may have been the result. During this investigation, there has never been any indication of foul play. The Goodhue County Sheriff s Office says, The investigation indicates the fire started in the area of the vehicle and spread to the home but the cause of the fire is unknown. ....
Goodhue County Sheriff Still Investigating Fire Death The Peterson house is nestled in woods to the north of the Country Club in Holden Township. The Goodhue County Sheriff s Office news release says, Upon arrival, firefighters located human remains in a burnt vehicle parked outside of the residence. The Kenyon Fire Department was assisted by Wanamingo Fire Department in responding to the fire along with the Kenyon Police Department and Goodhue County Sheriff s Office. The Goodhue County Sheriff s Office did not identify the exact address of the home or the homeowners. They did say the owners were accounted for. I checked with a few people in Kenyon to confirm it was the Peterson house. I was told the vehicle did not belong to them or any of their family members. Barb and Jerry were in Arizona and have returned to Kenyon. All family members have been located. ....
Kenyon Home Destroyed by Fire Mysterious Death Involved The home of Jerry and Barb Peterson of Kenyon was lost to a New Year s Eve fire that claimed the life of an unidentified person in a vehicle parked outside the home. The call came in at 6:14 p.m. on December 31, 2020 and was initially phoned in as a fire at the Kenyon Country Club. The Peterson home is located in the 45000 block of Highway 56 Blvd in Holden Township. The Goodhue County Sheriff s Department news release does not identify the homeowners. I checked with some sources in Kenyon to get that information. Thankfully the Petersons were in Arizona. ....
