140 constituencies, 957 candidates; Kerala to decide on April 6

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], April 5 (ANI): Kerala heads in for Assembly elections on Tuesday with battle lines drawn between the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) which hopes for continuity of term, and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is being seen as a potential threat in many places.

RT-PCR headache: Wary of Covid norms, Keralites in Karnataka give up voting plans

Express News Service
MYSURU:  Stringent Covid norms have forced many Keralites living in Karnataka to give up plans to go to their home towns and vote in the assembly elections on April 6.
The advisory by the Karnataka government makes it mandatory for those coming from Maharashtra and Kerala to carry RT-PCR test results, besides advising people to avoid long-distance travel.
This is playing spoilsport for thousands eager to exercise their franchise on Tuesday. Keralites have a rich tradition of active participation in the electoral process, with many even flying in from the Gulf nations to cast their votes.
With RT-PCR test results a must, hundreds of Keralites having provision and condiments stores, juice centres and other shops in Mysuru, Chamarajanagar and other districts, prefer to stay away from the Kerala election.

Holiday mood in market keeps spot rubber flat - The Hindu BusinessLine

Holiday mood in market keeps spot rubber flat
April 05, 2021
Spot rubber closed unchanged on Monday. The market ended in a stalemate as most traders continued to remain in a holiday mood even after Easter since Kerala Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on April 6.
Another firm closing in domestic futures also failed to make any visible impact in the physical market. “The commodity is expected to remain range-bound with an upward bias this week as major consuming industries are likely to maintain a wait and watch policy during the initial days of the new financial year,” analysts said.
