Kerala has set benchmark in e-governance, say experts
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 2 (UNI) Lauding the path-breaking initiatives of Kerala in e-governance, experts from across the globe on Tuesday said the governance milestones and benchmarks that Kerala has set continue to be relevant, when it comes to adopting electronic and digital technology.
They were sharing their insights and experiences during a session on E-governance on ''Citizen Access to Services and Empowerment,'' at the high-profile three-day virtual global conclave ''Kerala Looks Ahead'' (KLA) here.
Welcoming the participants, Mohammed Y Safirulla, Additional Secretary, Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of Kerala, said the state has come a long way in the field of information technology, particularly in the areas of e-governance.

No due process in the Kerala-Sprinklr deal, no clarity on privacy: Panel

Due process was not followed by Kerala’s IT Department in finalising the contract with US-based data analytics platform Sprinklr, a report by an enquiry committee set up by the state government concluded. All agreements were not negotiated or discussed “threadbare”, and the IT Department granted “omnibus rights” on data to Sprinklr.
Alarmingly, the committee found significant inconsistencies in the auditing process of Sprinklr’s systems, and concluded that there was very little visibility into the data security practices of the company.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s—who also holds the Information Technology portfolio—approval was never taken, and the then Principal IT Secretary, M Sivasankar brokered the deal with Sprinklr, the committee found.

The mark-lists of students who cleared the vocational higher secondary examinations (VHSE) this year are available on DigiLocker, the digital locker facility implemented by the Centre as part of its e-governance initiatives.
The documents were made available online by the Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Examinations in association with various agencies including Kerala State IT Mission, National e-Governance Division and National Informatics Centre. Certificates issued by DigiLocker are legally valid, according to an official release.
DigiLocker accounts can be created using the applicant’s mobile number and Aadhaar number on the website www.digilocker.gov.in.
