Elderly nan left in agony for 18 months with broken arm
AN 85-year-old nan has spent 18 months battling excruciating pain on a daily basis due to an untreated broken arm. Mary Murch broke her arm in September 2019 after picking up a bag that was too heavy for her. The nan previously had a metal implant in her arm following an injury, with the implant also snapping as she picked up the bag. Southend Hospital told Mary, from Thundersley, she would need surgery to remove the snapped implant and replace it - but since she has had three operations cancelled.
