Thomas Raynard James spent 32 years in prison for a crime he did not commit until he finally walked free last week, thanks to a tenacious journalist, a pro bono lawyer and the Miami-Dade state attorney's conviction integrity unit, which reviews old cases in which convicts have exhausted appeals. The exoneration shows all Florida judicial circuits should have such reviews.
