Courtesy of Trek Across Maine AUGUSTA The Trek Across Maine and the American Lung Association have announced that this year’s virtual event raised $360,500. The funds will be used to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education and advocacy. A portion of the funds will also be used for COVID-19 research. This year, more than 600 cyclists from California to Maine registered for the 37th annual event that was held virtually for the second year in a row because of COVID-19 safety precautions. ....

Photo courtesy of Trek Across Maine Because of the potential spread of the coronavirus, the American Lung Association in Augusta has announced the 37th annual Trek Across Maine fundraising bike ride scheduled for June 18-20 will be held virtually. Effective immediately, participants around the world will be able to register, track their own progress and complete their mileage goals for Trek Across Maine by cycling 60, 120 or 180 miles at their own pace before June 30. Since 1985, the event has raised more than $29.5 million for lung health. This year, money from the event will go toward the American Lung Association’s efforts ....
