Local Republican party leaders are expected to name Mazi Melesa Pilip, a Nassau County legislator, as their candidate for the special election to replace George Santos.
Mazi Melesa Pilip will be vying against Democratic candidate Tom Suozzi for the vacant seat in New York’s third congressional district.
