Off-duty police chase erratic driver in Escondido, pursuit ends in crash
ESCONDIDO — A police pursuit Thursday in Escondido ended in a rollover crash when the driver of an electric company box truck lost control of the vehicle and struck a power pole, authorities said. The pursuit began about 4:40 p.m. when an off-duty San Diego police lieutenant driving home from work saw the truck strike a curb several times in Escondido, according to San Diego police Officer Darius Jamsetjee.
