A radio-collared male wolf was lethally removed by ODFW staff in the Bear Valley area on Jan. 27, in response to chronic depredation of livestock, according to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Previously, there were two wolves documented in the Murderer's Creek wolves Area of Known Wolf Activity (AKWA). The second wolf has not been documented for almost three months. With the removal of the radio-collared wolf, the Murderers Creek AKWA is discontinued, according to ODFW.

Before the wolves have even gotten to Colorado the hunters and ranchers are already planning the hunting season, and the excuses to justify it.

A new group of wolves has taken up residence in Central Oregon, including parts of Deschutes and northern Klamath counties.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has identified a new area of known wolf activity in the Murderers Creek Wildlife Unit of Eastern Oregon. Ryan Torland, an ODFW district wildlife biologist, said the area in southern Grant County east of Seneca has seen at least two different wolves over the past three years. One was black, he said, and it appears to have moved on about a year or two ago. He told the EO Media Group a gray wolf started to show up roughly a year ago. Torland said this was throughout the winter and then disappeared in the spring.
