The USPS said it may move some mail operations from Knoxville to Nashville, after initially planning to move them to Louisville, Kentucky.
USPS said they will invest up to $9 million in the Knoxville facility as part of a 10-year Delivering for Americ Plan to modernize the nations aging postal network.
"I'm really shocked to see that they want to move mail out of this area," said one USPS employee of 18 years.
During the holidays, the volume of packages in mail carriers dramatically increases.
The public meeting will be at Pellissippii State Community College on Hardin Valley Road and will start at 3 p.m.
