April is the cruelest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain. But it is also, if I check the clock, Mario Time.
"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" is a spirited and sprightly attempt to race to the front of the pack of video-game adaptations. And it's a drastically more sincere effort to capture the fun and spirit of the Nintendo game.
