Anil Kumar, of Kadirur, was placed on ventilator support after he experienced severe respiratory distress. He was heading to Kannur with his wife and son when they fell victim to the attack.
According to sources, the incident took place around 9.07 pm when the train reached the Korapuzha railway bridge after crossing Kozhikode city.
Nine passengers, including three women, sustained burns in the incident. The condition of five is stated to be serious.
