The wildcat strike by hundreds of textile workers in Şanlıurfa in south-eastern Turkey has entered its third week, in defiance of the trade union apparatus, company threats and military police violence.

A strike by municipality workers in Istanbul and Ankara and 2,000 textile workers in Gaziantep has seen the DİSK union apparatus resort to physical violence in attempt to suppress the action on behalf of the employers and the state.
