Emma's Gormley's eldest son Kyle Hackland was stabbed four times by a group of teenagers who targeted him because he was friends with a sixth teenager.
The 16-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been remanded into custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Thursday December 1.
The boy is due in court later charged with the fatal stabbing of Kyle Hackland, 17, on 22 November.
