Three new units needed, officials say Written By: Erik Kaufman | × The Mitchell Board of Education will consider the purchase of new commercial-grade dishwashers when it meets for its next meeting Monday, Feb. 8. The meeting, scheduled for 5 p.m., will be held in a virtual format. According to agenda notes provided by Joe Graves, superintendent for the Mitchell School District, food service personnel have identified a need to replace three dishwashers in the school kitchens. The board will consider bids for the equipment from IS Restaurant Design Equipment of Sioux Falls. The company submitted bids for two different brands of dishwasher. One made by Jackson comes in at $92,526.14 and the other, made by Hobart, comes in at $122,607.24. Graves said the bid on the Jackson machines had to be rejected because there are no nearby dealers who can repair and maintain the machine, as well as capacity and other design features. ....
