GODFREY — A Targeted Job Fair is planned June 16 at Lewis and Clark Community College to match students and community residents with Riverbend employers searching for servers, dishwashers, bartenders and other hospitality industry workers.
On Friday, Illinois will fully reopen from COVID-19, with occupancy limitations removed for restaurants, bars and other public venues. According to Indeed.com, job postings nationwide at food-services businesses were 25% above pre-pandemic levels at the end of May.
The L&C Career and Veteran Services has joined forces with Madison County Employment and Training and the RiverBend Growth Association to bring employers and job seekers together 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, in The Commons on the college’s Godfrey Campus.

The four key directions of the plan are:
An expectation of enrollment and retention improvement.
Investing in program and curriculum development.
Building a transparent and inclusive campus culture.
Broadening community and educational collaboration.
To achieve those goals, the college has named “Mover Teams” of LCCC faculty who will help the college reach the goals set by the strategic plan.
The Scholarship Mover Team was created to improve enrollment and retention in the college. According to Team member Debby Edelman, the main way to improve that is through scholarships. The team, along with the LCCC Foundation, shares a software called Academic Works, which streamlines the scholarship application process.
