SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and Louisiana State Police advise drivers to use caution following a deep freeze on Friday night.
Temperatures fell into the teens to low 20s causing snow and ice that was recently plowed to refreeze on the roadways.
Black ice is a thin, transparent layer of ice that can be hard to see on bridges, overpasses, off-ramps and in shady areas of the road. It is dangerous because it blends into the pavement making it almost impossible to see. ....

Update on US 171 Construction in DeRidder, LA

In a message from DeRidder City Hall, Tammy York Austin, Public Information Officer for LA DOTD, shared that the road work on US 171/North Pine Street is expected to continue until February 2021.
They are installing new drainage structures, ADA ramps, curb repairs, mill and asphalt overlay and permanent striping â which will include adding a center left turn lane from W. Port Street to West Drive/W. North Street.
When conditions are too cold to continue asphalt operations the project will be halted. ....
