Beverly Barrett Beverly Ann Barrett, 93, of Roseville, MN passed away on December 11, 2020 with family at her side. Bev was born on November 16, 1927 in Staples, MN to Blanchard (B.C.) and Ethel Barrett. The family lived in Staples until Bev was a sophomore in high school when they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. Bev was a 1945 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School and then attended Moorhead State Teacher’s College, receiving a degree in Elementary Education. State reports 550 COVID cases in Volusia schools since September

High schools in the two districts continue to report the most cases per site. This week, Flagler Palm Coast High reported an additional 10 cases, bringing its total to 41. In Volusia County, DeLand High has the highest number of cases with 31. Differing numbers reported by the different entities have been a problem all year. According to an FAQ on the state's coronavirus update web page, the inconsistencies should be taken up with the district and not the state. British Columbia adds another 737 Coronavirus cases, 11 deaths

B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry. (via THE CANADIAN PRESS) COVID-19 numbers remain high throughout B.C., while the north saw a flurry of activity related to the virus.  In a written statement today (Dec. 11), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 737 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours for a new grand total of 40,797.  Of those, Northern Health has 41, which brings the authority's recorded number to 1,240.
